Zhen graduated with a M.S. in Pharmacology and Drug Development from Tufts University in 2023, where she studied the role of V-ATPases in breast cancer growth and metastasis under the guidance of Dr. Michael Forgac. Her work involved a designer nanobody treatment to gain insights into the regulation of proton transport through tumor surface V-ATPases. In October 2023, Zhen joined the Engelman Lab to pursue her interest in comprehending the mechanisms of HIV nuclear trafficking and integration. Her current work focuses on the production of virus stocks and the examination of HIV-1 integrase mutant viruses. Outside of work, Zhen enjoys kayaking, snorkeling, and exploring new restaurants.
